“Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God” Psalms 43:5, NKJV.
“I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord” Psalms 118:17, NKJV.
King David said a lot in scripture to God. The reason is he was fighting. He was fighting with his prayers. He was fighting with his declarations. He would boast on God in the midst of the challenge, then boast even more after God gave him the victory he believed for. He had a struggle, but he declared in the struggle. He felt feelings of depression, but he fought with his mouth and overcame negative emotions.
The trial shows what we believe by what we speak while in it. If you’re being tested, I challenge you to declare your way through it. Open your mouth and bring light and hope into it. Your mouth is your weapon. If you allow the enemy to run over you, he will. Open your mouth and fight! Declare what the Lord says. Open your mouth and say the Lord will defend me. It may look one way, I may feel one way, but I will hope in God, who fights for me. The Lord is on my side.
Prayer: Father, I praise You! I will open my mouth and fight. I will not die, but live to declare Your works and Your goodness! In the presence of my enemies, I declare You are defending me. I come against the enemy who is defeated and I say I will overcome. The Lord fights for me and He is on my side. Hallelujah! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
