Pray for your new year.

December 31, 2021

“Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, ‘Sit here while I go and pray over there’” Matthew 26:36, NKJV.

“Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them“ Isaiah‬ ‭42:9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.

Do you understand where you are right now in your life? Do you realize what is ahead of you? Jesus did, and he prayed. We should too.

Purpose draws us to prayer. Awareness that the Lord has a destiny and plans He wants us to walk in draws us to seek Him. If there wasn’t a time to be praying for God’s will to be done in and through you, for His Spirit to be leading you, it’s now in your life as you go into this new year.

There are things the Lord wants you to understand and step into. There is vision and insight He wants to provide, and show you things to come (John 16:13). There’s strength and focus He wants to give. Even before 2022 arrives, begin to ask God to bless your year. Pray for great things to come to pass in your new year.

Prayer: Father, I praise You for opening my eyes to the magnitude of where I am in my life, and the need for me to pray. You empowered Jesus to do Your will even to the cross, and I ask that You empower me. Speak to me about Your plan for my life. Give me the strength and focus to execute Your awesome will for me. Thank You in advance for blessing my new year. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Study: Matthew 26:36-43, Romans 8:29-30, 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, Hebrews 13:20-21
