A Hunger to Finish

July 2, 2021

“In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat. Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.” John 4:31 & 34, NKJV.

Jesus was hungry for the will of God and to finish His work, which he deemed more vital than food itself. It was his meat. His life’s focus was upon the will of God being completed. Now is the time to hunger for His will.

Are you a man that’s hungry to finish? Is your high calling your highest goal? Show me a hungry person, and I’ll show you a champion. Be determined not only to start but to cross that finish line before you. Do not be satisfied with just doing God’s will, but also finishing God’s work that He has given you.

You have a calling to fulfill. Let it drive you and cause you to put your time toward it. Be careful of all distractions. May the blessing and reward of your assignment keep you excited. Nothing is going to satisfy you like walking out His will for your life.

Prayer: Father, thank You for choosing me and giving me purpose. I am honored and humbled You have called me. Reveal it even more to me. I ask for a greater hunger to not only start, but finish. Help me be intensely focused. Like Jesus, my meat is to do Your will and to finish this good work in my hands. I ask for the grace, the wisdom–spiritual and natural–, and the courage to do it. I thank You for walking out my destiny. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
