“In the same way you married men should live considerately with [your wives], with an intelligent recognition [of the marriage relation], honoring the woman as [physically] the weaker, but [realizing that you] are joint heirs of the grace (God’s unmerited favor) of life, in order that your prayers may not be hindered and cut off. [Otherwise you cannot pray effectively.]” 1 Peter 3:7, Amplified.
Fine china was created by royalty. The primary known material for it is porcelain, also referred to as “white gold”. Fine china is so valuable, yet fragile, and we are aware of the special care that it needs. We even have made china cabinets specifically created to hold and protect it. The china cabinet also is built with windows for all to see its’ hand-crafted design and beauty.
Our wives are like fine china, given by God. She was made and designed by God Himself. Every time your wife is seen, she should display who she is, God’s daughter, and your rich care for her. You are nourishing her, cherishing her, ministering to her, watering her, telling her how thankful and blessed you are to have a woman like her, spending money on her, giving her good things, listening, and meeting her needs. We are called to nourish and cherish our wife as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it. She is your wife and God instructs us to greatly love them.
Prayer: Thank You Father for seeing how precious my wife is. She is like fine china and I have to treat her like You do–with excellent care. She is your precious daughter. She is royalty and I am so thankful for her. Teach me how to love her, honor her and give myself for my wife, as you did for us. Help me obey You, and as a result, you will richly bless our marriage.
