The 1-yard line.

January 25, 2024

“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him” James 1:12, ESV.

In football, it always gets the toughest at the one-yard line. The opponent puts their best defensive players on the field. It gets the toughest when you’re the closest.

My brother, you’re almost there. Just because you’re experiencing opposition from the wicked one doesn’t mean something is wrong. You may be facing your greatest challenge, but that doesn’t mean something is wrong. You’re just at your one-yard line. At this pivotal point, the devil is throwing everything he can at you because the greatest blessing of your life is on the other side of what you’re going through. His tactic of attack is to get you discouraged and tired and deter you from what God has spoken to you. Yet, the Lord of Hosts, the God of Angel Armies, has gone before you. His best are on the field of your life too. Jesus is with you. You’re so close to those dreams from God, and they are about to come to pass!

The 1-yard line is not the place to faint but the place to rejoice. You know God too well, and He’s shown you too much to give in now, especially right before you receive. You are at the cusp of experiencing the most awesome place in your life–and I prophesy God is going to amaze you at how He helps you to enter in.

Prayer: Father, I give all the praise, honor, and glory. It’s tough, but through Christ, I will overcome the one-yard line. I will rejoice at the 1-yard line. Your grace is sufficient. I ask for a renewed strength and courage. Help me, Holy Spirit, to not be moved by the attacks of the devil against me and remain diligent in you. Continue to lead and guide me. Your plans for me are coming to pass! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
