“Many hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous, But the Lord rescues him from them all†Psalm 34:19, Amplified.
Naturally, when a storm is coming, your local news will inform you there’s severe weather headed toward your area, so you can behave and prepare accordingly. We know it’s coming, so we wisely do everything needed with the goal of living as normal as possible as we get through it, nothing changing.
Yet, that’s not how it is with the storms of life. Sometimes, you didn’t know it was coming.
Sometimes, they are heavy, unforeseen, and unexpected, especially when they involve those you love. Yet, God’s desire is for you to know He didn’t change in the storm. The same God in the sunny weather is the same God there in the storm. The same Jesus you were praising then is the same Jesus you praise now. Sing in the storm! Stand on His word in the storm. Trust Him in the storm. Your heavenly Father says His promises outlast storms. His love will outlast the storm.
Just like in a natural storm, wisely do everything needed to live and be guided by God, your shelter, the One who covers you and gets you through anything. He rescued you from the last one. He will get you through this one too.
Prayer: Father, thank you. I didn’t expect this, but I choose to sing in the storm today. I choose to trust you in the storm. This will pass. You’re the same God. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. A storm didn’t change you. Help me not to let it change me. Give me the wisdom I need, Holy Spirit, to propel me forward through it. Hallelujah! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
