“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report” Hebrews 11:1-2, NKJV.
Faith is like going to the grocery store and buying everything your wife asks for on her shopping list. You return home with all of your grocery bags and your wife asks, “Did you get the eggs?” “Yes”, you respond. She then says, “I don’t see them.” Your next response is, “Yes I did. Here are the eggs right here on the receipt. See, I paid for them”. You then recall you just left them at the register, so you drive back, show them the receipt of your purchase, and take them back home.
This is the joy and power of your faith. You can go to God’s word, and believe on what He says. God’s word is the receipt of what has already been paid for through Jesus Christ. He paid for you to be free and whole in every way. He came so you can have life and have it more abundantly. Thank God for every covenant He made. Thank God that He is not a man that He should lie and that all His promises are yes and amen.
The next time the enemy comes against you, show him your receipt. You may be waiting, you may feel tired—remember your receipt and walk in the power of your faith today!
Prayer: Father, I thank you for every promise you have made. Jesus paid it all for me. I receive joy today because I know what belongs to me! Thank you for walking in and applying the power of my faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
