“In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been told, ‘So shall your offspring be.’ ” Romans 4:18, ESV.
I had never seen a block like the one from Lebron James in the 2016 NBA Finals. It appeared that there was no way he could do anything, but He covered 88 feet in seconds. He caught the right break from a teammate and blocked a sure layup. Against all odds, he hoped against hope, and he was able to accomplish the impossible.
Hope against hope, my brother. If you still see it, it’s still yours. If the Lord is reminding you of it, it’s not too late for you to leap in your life and reach it. You look like nothing can be done. You may feel so behind and how in the world can you get there, but it will be the hand of God that causes you to make up ground in your life, and the momentum of His grace that causes you to run and not get weary. It will be the right break, the favor of God, that opens doors and the divine interventions of your God that you can’t explain that causes you to see God do the impossible for you. Like Abraham, believe you have a God that can do anything for you.
So hope against hope.
Prayer: Father, that touched the right spot. I hope against hope today. It may not look like I can get there, but I choose to believe You. Help me by Your strength and grace to receive what seems impossible. As I continue to walk by faith, You will do what I can’t explain. You will do beyond what I can ask for or imagine! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
