“The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: ‘Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you’ ” Jeremiah 31:3, NKJV.
When you haven’t done everything right, it’s great to know the Father still loves you. He still calls you to spend time before Him. When our minds have been elsewhere, He puts a song on our hearts to help us keep going. When he speaks and encourages you, when those moments you feel the least deserving, the Lord blesses you.
Even as men, we need to know that Someone loves us. God loves us with an everlasting love. From one point to another, it can’t be measured, and no matter what you do, God’s love outlasts it. It extends to no end.
With His lovingkindness, He draws us into a place of repentance, surrender, and change. With His lovingkindness, He draws us, and we come in contact with a Father that is for us, upholding us, keeping us strong, even when we don’t know it. You came through it because of His grace. Even if you’re running from what He is asking of you, He still loves you.
The truth is it’s never been about you doing everything right, and it never will be. God isn’t interested in your perfect deeds but in a perfect heart toward Him. He’s good to us, and it is what causes us to change. His love makes us want to love Him more and do right.
Prayer: Father God, I thank you for the everlasting love you show me daily. Even though I don’t deserve it, you pour it out without fail. Thank you, Lord. I will keep pressing toward you. I receive your love and mercy today, and I pray that you will use me to show this same love to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
