All will be well for an obedient son.

July 13, 2024

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‘Honor your father and mother,’ which is the first commandment with promise: ‘that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth’” Ephesians 6:1-3, NKJV.

I’ll give an obedient child whatever they want. I’ll give a child that honors and values me as their father whatever they want. One that respects me. I hear yes sir, no sir in their response, and they don’t talk back. A child that causes a rejoicing over. A child doing their best to make good decisions. They listen. My words carry weight and are valuable to them. When I say something, they trust my advice.

If this is me as a natural father, how much more our heavenly One.

You are His son, and all the promises of God are yes and amen. As you delight in Him, your Father says I’ll give you whatever you want. As you honor and obey Him, He will bless your life and everything that pertains to it. He will withhold no good thing from those who walk uprightly. All your days will be well with you, and you will not only live a long life but a long, good, thriving, God-kind of life. The life He ordained for you to have. Continue to go after being the son and man of God the Father has called you to be. Honoring your own parents. Honoring your role as a husband and father also. All will be blessed and well when you decide to be to God what you desire your children to be to you.

Prayer: Father, I love you and give you praise. May I be an obedient, honorable son to you. Just like I want my kids to be toward me so they can have a long, blessed life, may I do the same toward you. When you talk, help me to listen. I trust you as my heavenly Father, and according to your word, you’ll give me the desires of my heart as I delight in you. I’m encouraged today to respect and honor the God of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
