You’re New Now

October 26, 2022

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” 2 Corinthians 5:17, NKJV.

I remember when my family and I were taking a road trip from Columbus, Georgia to Miami a year ago. I knew that driving was best, but I did ask God whether we should rent a vehicle or drive our own. When He told me to take our van, I seriously wondered could our van make it. We’ve had that van for so long. Then God reminded me that I replaced the engine. The van doesn’t have that old engine any longer. It has a new one now.

Sometimes, it can be easy to think of yourself and your life like that old engine. You consider your past, what you’ve done and how you use to live, and you wonder if can you make it. You wonder if can you really do what the Father is asking of you, and if can you become the man God wants you to be.

Yet, God says look who resides in you now, Jesus Christ. You have a new engine. When you came to Jesus, all things have been made brand new. There’s not one thing regarding your old man that hasn’t passed away. You’ve been given a new start. You have a new life in Him to experience and joyfully live out. The blessing and favor of the Lord rest on you. God has redeemed your life from destruction and Jesus has sitted you in heavenly places with him. You have a position of victory in Christ Jesus. You have a new engine and there is nothing you can’t do through him. There’s nothing you can’t accomplish through him. For so long life was one way, but you’re new now.

Prayer: Father, thank You for making all things new. Jesus lives in me, I am a new man and I can be all that You’ve called me to be. I’m new now! Allow Your word to renew my mind to the great work You’ve done for me. I leave my past and go forward into what You’ve destined for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
