Your greatest accomplishment.

“Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table” Psalm 128:3, ESV.

“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth” 3 John 1:4, ESV.

As men, we want to accomplish things. We want to conquer mountains and slay giants. Our bank accounts should be overflowing, which can cause us to be so driven to attain financial wealth. We have a purpose to complete and a calling to fulfill.

Yet, let me ask you this. When was the last time you had a movie night on the floor with your family? When was the last time you just stopped and asked your son what was really going on in his life? Does your wife need some quality time with you? Are you present, but your family is missing you?

Other accomplishments are good, but there’s no greater accomplishment in life than your relationship with the Lord and then your family. There will be no greater legacy you leave than your family. There’s power in being a man, and God appoints you to spearhead that everyone in your home is whole, thriving, heard, strong, loved, and enjoying their lives.

If there was ever a time they needed you, it’s now. You being a good father and husband is your greatest call and will be your greatest accomplishment.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for speaking to me. Help me not to neglect my home for the sake of my accomplishments. Even the things You’ve called me to do still should not cause me to lose my family. Aside from knowing You, my family is my greatest call and accomplishment. Lead me on how to minister to my family today. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
