The things you can’t change.

December 5, 2021

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬.

“But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive” Genesis 50:20, NKJV.

We have six kids, and I love them. Yet sometimes, I ask myself why in the world did we have six of them. I’m just being honest. But I can’t return them like something I bought from a store. I come to the reality that it’s something that I can’t change. So that’s when I pray, get into God to get His heart, His perspective, and the attitude that the Lord is with me. I can’t get out of it, but by God’s grace, He helps me get into it. Then, without them knowing my struggle, I go slap my kids a big high five in the morning and tell them it’s going to be great day!

In your life, there can be things that happen, or decisions you have made that you won’t be able to change. There’s no receipt. But choose not to walk around in regret, and that is a decision that even God Himself won’t make for you. You have to choose to trust God. You have to choose to live. It may not change, but you can. And in God…there is always a way. It’s up to you to ask and take God’s hand as He leads you to enjoy your life, and find the blessings in the midst of what you can’t change.

Prayer: Father, I needed to hear this. Thank You! I receive Your heart, Your perspective, Your attitude, and let Your grace kick in to help me live, help me thrive, help me see every blessing in the midst of what I can’t change. I rebuke regret and fear. In Christ I choose to move forward, trusting You still have an awesome plan for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
