Set the Joy Before You

October 15, 2022

“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” Hebrews 12:2, NKJV.

Jesus always set His joy before Him. Throughout His whole life, He would mention the cross, but He talked a whole lot more about what was on the other side of the cross. There was a joy, a reward, and a redemption for us that was so abundantly good, that it helped Him endure.

It may seem hard sometimes, but set the joy before you. Then begin to speak life and declare what the Lord said He is about to do in your life.

Tell your wife “We’re going somewhere great!” Make plans for it, and see yourself already there on the inside. Whatever the area is, set your joy before you. It will shift your focus and help you endure!

Prayer: Father, I glorify You. You’ve given me a joy and I set it before me. With the power of life in my tongue, I say You are a Rewarder and it’s going to be abundantly good! Allow Your word and this joy to affect what I think about and help me endure. I thank You. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
