“…For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away” James 4:14, NKJV.
The Bible says life is like a vapor. Life is like your fresh, hot cup of coffee in the morning that lets off a little fragrant smoke, and in a moment, it disappears. It’s like the visible air you see from your mouth on a cold day, but before you can turn your head, it’s gone.
Life may seem long, but it isn’t. It can seem as if we have all the time in the world, yet we don’t. You will be here one moment and gone the next. When you are old and your hair is gray, will you be able to say I did everything the Lord put me here to do, or will you later in life with regret say I could have done more? I have little to show for all the potential God put in me, and this life the Lord gave me.
Be who God created you to be now. Do what He put in your heart to do now. Live life and enjoy it now. While you have been given today, live today. Maximize your moment. Your latter days and your eternal reward will depend on what you do with your vapor—your abundant purpose-filled destiny that Jesus paid for.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the gift of life. It is truly like a vapor, here one day and then gone the next. Help me to maximize my moment and give all that I have to you today. Help me live and enjoy my life. I ask for your strength and grace to run like never before. I want to be and do all that You created me for. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
