“When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, ‘Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me'” Mark 8:34, NKJV.
“So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts” Zechariah 4:6, NKJV.
I know you have seen glimpses of greatness in your life. You’ve seen flickers of it—flashes of seeing all you were created to be. Don’t give up on that. Don’t settle.
Be great through Him. Let the Lord be who you depend on and yield to for strength. There will be times you will have to get up when you don’t want to, but Jesus will tell you to deny yourself and take up your cross today. He will tell you the way to greatness is humility. Yet, His grace will show itself to be sufficient. It’s enough. His Spirit is enough to provide whatever you need to be the greatest man you can be.
Prayer: Father, I give you all the praise and glory. I don’t want to see just glimpses of greatness anymore. I want to be all you have called me to be and do everything you have purposed for me. Help me not to lean on myself but on you. According to your word, it’s all by your Spirit. Teach me, Holy Spirit, how to allow you to be the strength and power I need to reach the highest heights in my life. I’m called to be great. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
