“Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?â€Â Matthew 6:26, NKJV.
Our two youngest kids asked me to take them to the playground. They really wanted to go. So, I took them to Burger King to eat and play. Both of them were so happy, enjoying their food and having a great time. Out of the blue, while eating, my son says from his heart, “Thank you, Daddy, for bringing us to Burger King.” As they went back out to play, at that very moment, I was touched deeply, even about to tear up because it hit me that I am who they depend on. I’m who they’re depending on to feed them. I’m who they are depending on to cloth them. They are counting on me to enjoy life. If I don’t do it, it won’t get done. If I don’t provide a way, there won’t be a way. As their father, I take care of them.
How much more the heart of your heavenly Father who will take care of you. As His child, the Father knows you are depending on Him. You’re counting on Him. If He doesn’t do it, it won’t get done. If He doesn’t move it, it won’t move. The Lord wants you to gladly put your trust in Him today. May the very thought of the Father’s love dispel every worry and concern. If He takes care of the birds, He will take care of you.
Prayer: Hallelujah, Father, I give you all the praise, honor, and glory. You are good, and I thank you that you are my father. You know everything I want and need in my life. I humbly depend on You today. I will not fear. I will not worry. I put my trust not in money or man but in you. You take care of the birds. You will take care of me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
