“Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. 3But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds…” Luke 10:32-34, NKJV.
When my wife and I got married, we sang a song called “I’m Available to You” by Reverend Miles Brunson and the Thompson Community Singers. We were declaring together to God with one voice that you can use us. Yes, we’ve had challenges like any other marriage, but the mission hasn’t changed. However, our availability gets tested.
Availability is dear to God in these times. Many are broken, but many aren’t willing to take the time and resources to really help fix someone. The availability that costs you. The availability that causes you to go beyond the first free mile you gave them. Most of all, the availability of sharing and teaching someone about the Jesus you know who loved you in your darkest times, who helped you get your life back.
In this year of overflow and divine rescue, God is going to use you to bring rescue into someone’s life by the overflow of God you allow to pour through you. I’m seeing more and more, you don’t have to know everything, just be available.
Prayer: Father, I give you all the praise and glory. I thank you for a new day. I start this off by telling you that I’m available. I don’t know everything, but you can use me. Fill me, Holy Spirit, and then pour out of me love and compassion however you desire. Help me to be a laborer for your harvest. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
