“And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, ‘Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!’ Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, ‘Son of David, have mercy on me!’†Mark 10:47-48, NKJV.
Blind Bartimaeus didn’t allow anyone to shut him up when it came to his cry to Jesus. He actually cried out even more. All he knew was that Jesus was here and He was who he needed.
Like Bartimaeus, you know there is something you need Jesus to do in your life also. This isn’t the hour to let the enemy, pride, or what people think to keep you from deepening your relationship with God. Although they may not understand your pursuit, don’t allow anyone to keep you from your pursuit. Yield to the Holy Spirit. As a man, the Lord is asking you for a change in your prayer life, and others may advise it doesn’t take all that. The Lord is speaking to you to set yourself apart, listen to more worship music, and spend more time in His presence, attending church, and others don’t understand why. Yet, cry out more, and focus on God more. You will not be shut down.
Bartimaeus obeyed God and ended up receiving his blessing, and so will you!
Prayer: Father, I give you all the praise and glory. People don’t understand, but I do. I will not be shut down from drawing closer to you. I will cry out to you even more. I will not be quiet. I need you, Jesus! Help me to shut the door of my closet and seek you. I thank you that as I follow you, I will receive my blessing. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
