Stay in His will.

February 11, 2024

“Peter took Him aside [to speak to Him privately] and began to reprimand Him, saying, ‘May God forbid it! This will never happen to You.’ But Jesus turned and said to Peter, ‘Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on things of God, but on things of man’ ” Matthew 16:22-23, Amp.

It was a hard saying, but it was true what Jesus said to the devil and Peter about going to the cross. Jesus loved Peter and knew he meant no harm, yet Peter didn’t understand the will of God. Yet, Jesus did. Those around him didn’t understand, but He knew what the Father had called Him to do, and He was holding fast to God’s will.

It’s important in this season of your life to stay in God’s will. It may be a good idea, but not a God idea. Stay in God’s will. If God gave you a plan, stay with that plan. Step-by-step, don’t be moved to the left or to the right, but keep praying and following the instructions of the Holy Spirit. Remember, even your loved ones may not understand the will of God for you like you do. It’s up to you to not be moved and hold fast to it. Jesus knew the assignment and was determined to carry it out, and He victoriously did. So will you.

Prayer: Father, I give you praise! Thank you, Jesus, for your determination to stay in the Father’s will, and you carried it out strong. No matter what, help me not to be swayed or moved. Get behind me, satan! I know what God told me. Continue to help me follow your instructions, Holy Spirit, and I thank you, Lord, for victoriously walking out your perfect will for my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
