“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9, NKJV.
This wasn’t the first time God had spoken this word of encouragement to Joshua. Prior to this, Moses declared the word of The Lord to all of Israel in Deuteronomy 31:6, and then spoke directly to Joshua in verse 7, “And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the LORD hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.” This wasn’t a new word. God was repeating Himself.
What have you been hearing God say to you again? What has God had someone tell you at several points in your life, and now He has reminded you of that same word? Like Joshua was commanded to be strong and courageous, in this season, God is commanding you to be something too. He will remind us, and say some things again that He has already said for our benefit and to receive a great blessing. It will keep us focused, strong in faith, and encouraged. Draw a line in the sand and receive, act on, and apply His reminders in your life. Obey God. Joshua did and entered in. God says, so will you!
Prayer: Father, I thank you for speaking to me. I choose to receive what you have repeatedly said to receive and act on. You are with me and I don’t have to fear. Help me submit to your will and obey you. Be glorified in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
