You’re going to be so glad you obeyed Him.

“And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first, and bring it to me; and afterward make some for yourself and your son. For thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry…”. So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he and her household ate for many days.” I Kings‬ ‭17:13-15‬ ‭NKJV‬.

The widow was asked by Elijah to give her last bit of food to him and it didn’t make sense to do it. It seemed even insensitive for Elijah to ask her for it as well. Yet, she believed God and obeyed Him, and supernaturally her flour and oil never ran dry again until the rain came.

She was glad she obeyed God, and so will you.

It may not make sense for you also. What God is telling you to do may be uncomfortable. It may be stretching your faith. You may need to forgive or be facing some fears. You may have to hold on. But know that God will keep His promise, and on the other side of your great obedience is a great reward.

Prayer: Father, you’ve spoken to me, and said there’s a great blessing on the other side of my great obedience. Give me the courage to make Holy Spirit-led decisions. Help me to walk by faith and not by sight. Give me strength to hold on. Father, I thank you now. I’m going to be so glad I obeyed you. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
