“And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not” Deuteronomy 8:2, ESV.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope” Romans 15:13, ESV.
Any man can serve the Lord when everything is going well. The children of Israel gladly praised the Lord after they crossed over the Red Sea. They gave Him glory with no hesitation after they saw how He delivered them from the Egyptian army. The challenge came when they had to walk through the wilderness.
Ask yourself will you be like the Israelites who lost faith the moment things became difficult, or are you like His servant Job who after losing much, said I’ll still serve You? Will you let go because things aren’t going your way, or will you hold on and say Lord I trust You?
Although you may be tested, still serve Him. You may have to be patient, but still serve Him. He doesn’t want your worship and your obedience to be conditional, or love based on outcomes. Whether all is well or it isn’t, He says yes or not now, still serve Him.
There is always a promised land after the wilderness. After obedience, there is always a blessing!
Prayer: Father, I worship You with all my heart. I worship You, not outcomes. I choose to have an attitude of trust. I will serve You no matter what. Strengthen my heart. Strengthen my faith and my joy in believing. The blessing will always come. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
