“So Saul clothed David with his armor, and he put a bronze helmet on his head; he also clothed him with a coat of mail. David fastened his sword to his armor and tried to walk, for he had not tested them. And David said to Saul, “I cannot walk with these, for I have not tested them.” So David took them off” 1 Samuel 17:38-39, NKJV.
David realized that he couldn’t use the armor Saul used for his own fight. It fit Saul, but it didn’t fit him. David said I need to use what God has given me. I can only be myself.
You are not called to be someone else. You are called to be you. As long as you try to be another man, like David, it won’t fit you. It won’t work for you. Use your own God-given gifts and talents, your own personality and your abilities, your own God-given way to make an impact for God, to live your best life.
This is a great time in your life. Don’t be afraid to be you. Like David, be a man that is confident in who you are. Be a man that will trust you have everything you need, and be great right where we are.
Prayer: Father, help me to be myself. You didn’t call me to be another man. You called me to be me, and I will be confident in who you created me to be. Help me not to be afraid. I am a great man how You made me and the gifts You’ve given me. Thank You Lord! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
