You’re at the 1-Yard Line

October 14, 2017

“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him” James 1:12, ESV.

I’ve found in football, it always gets the toughest and the grittiest at the 1-yard line. The team with the ball meets their greatest challenge right before the end zone. Yet, the team with the ball is confident, coming to realize that if they’ve come this far down the field, they can do it, and there’s no reason to stop now. They’re almost there.

My brother, you’re almost there. You’re facing your greatest challenge, but that doesn’t mean something is wrong. You’re at the 1-yard line. You’re having to give everything you’ve got at the 1-yard line. At this pivotal point, the devil is throwing everything at you, trying to fight you the hardest because the greatest blessing in your life is on the other side. His tactic is to get you distracted off the goal God has given you. He is trying to turn your heart to pursuing the things of the world first, and not the things of God. You’re so close to entering into what the Lord created you for, and your visions and dreams from God are about to come to pass!

Why stop believing at the goal line? God has brought you too far to give in now. You’ve seen too much favor to know that He’s with you. He’s shown you too much to doubt yourself and what He put in you now, especially right before you receive. You are at the cusp of experiencing the most awesome time in your life, the most awesome place in God that you’ve ever been.

Prayer: Father, that’s what going on. I’m at the 1-yard line. It’s hard, but You’re harder! Your grace is sufficient. I ask that you renew my strength. Help me Holy Spirit to remain aggressive in prayer and seeking You. Through Christ, I will enter into what God has for me to do. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen!
