He’s God

May 29, 2019

“Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me. Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding” Job 38:3-4, NKJV.

“Then Job answered the Lord and said: I know that You can do everything, and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You. You asked, ‘Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?’ Therefore I have uttered what I did not under-stand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know” Job 42:1-3, NKJV.

After Job and his friends tried to figure out the purposes of God and why He does what does, God asked Job this question and many more of all that He has made, and asked him to declare an answer if he had one. Job didn’t have a response.

As I read this passage and the complete response of God, I had no response either and it brought about a holy reverence and weight for Who God is. When we realize the weight of Who God is, even in our calamity, it has a way of humbling us and helping us to give a holy reverence to Him. He’s God.

There are things only God knows and only He can do. He gives. He takes away. No matter what happens in your life, don’t allow the devil or people to lead you to complain or speak of things that you don’t know of. Because all the while it appears like things aren’t going right, or God’s purpose is harming you, you didn’t realize He’s purpose was blessing you. Just as the expected end He blessed Job with, you can accept that He’s God and trust that He will bless you with an expected end also.

Prayer: Father, thank You for Your word. As I read of all You have done, I feel like Job and I have no response. I have spoken of things that I don’t know of. Help me to accept Your will, and trust Your will for me. You are God and I reverence You. Do what You want to do in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
