Go with His Plan

March 5, 2017

“Listen to me, my fellow Israelites, my people. I had it in my heart to build a house as a place of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord, for the footstool of our God, and I made plans to build it. But God said to me, ‘You are not to build a house for my Name, because you are a warrior and have shed blood.’ “Yet the Lord, the God of Israel, chose me from my whole family to be king over Israel forever…” 1 Chronicles 28:2-4, NIV.

One morning I woke up already moving forward with a plan and what I thought I needed to do. Yet, as I sought God, as I wen…t to Him about one thing, He showed me another. He revealed to me this is actually My plan and He took me in a totally different direction than I expected. I said okay God, I understand, and I will go in that direction instead.

Sometimes, if not careful, we can go ahead of God into something with our own preconceived plan, when we need to have an open heart for whatever He wants to do. As with David, God may have something totally different in mind. What He desires, He graces you for, He backs it, it will stand, and you will be powerfully blessed in it

Even in the beginning in Genesis 1:31, everything God made, He said it was very good. His plan for you is very good. He will have something much better, more glorious, more rewarding than you could ever imagine. Yet, it begins first with acknowledging and inquiring about His plan for you. Don’t approach the day, don’t go into this season in your life with your own plan, ask God for His. Once He reveals it, once you see it, then humbly go with it.

Prayer: Father, I stop for a moment and acknowledge You. What do You want and what is Your plan for me today? Help me not to have a preconceived plan. I give You room for whatever You want. I want Your plan and it’s very good. Each day, help me to flow with how You lead me. I thank You Lord. In Jesus, name, Amen
