“Then the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord'” Luke 2:9-11, NKJV.
The holiday season can be a depressing time for us as men because we desire to do so much for our families, but for whatever reason, we can’t. I want to encourage you with what the Lord has shared with me.
Gifts don’t make Christmas. A tree doesn’t make Christmas. Christ makes Christmas. Jesus is truly the reason for the season. If you help your family focus on Christ, if you decide to be thankful for who you have and what you do have, you will find this special day never loses its’ power. It never loses its’ gladness and joy. God is an awesome God, and He will make sure you and your family still have an awesome Christmas.
Prayer: Father, I praise You for the greatest gift of Jesus. Christ makes Christmas. I will not be depressed, but I decide to be full of joy. There are things that I wanted, but I thank You for giving my family and me what we need. I thank You for who I have and what I have. Use me to help my kids and my family to enjoy Christmas. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
