When You Don’t Understand Why

December 23, 2019

“And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before” Job 42:10, KJV.

Some good friends of ours had something occur in their lives that has shaken them to their core, and they didn’t see it coming.

Maybe you’ve experienced or are experiencing something right now that you truly have no answers for. You prayed. You had faith. You gave it your best and thought God would give you a certain outcome, but it didn’t happen. You didn’t see it coming, and now you are asking God why.

Although you don’t understand why be encouraged in this holiday season to keep trusting Him. Know when things happen in our lives, we don’t understand, it doesn’t change Who God is. God cares about your situation and your life. He is not the author of evil but good. Companies may fail. People may fail. Our bodies may fail. Yet, God never fails.

You may not see it now, but you’ll understand in due time. One day, the Lord will make it all clear to you. He will also bring people around you, and although it’s not their valley, they’ll walk with you as if it was. That’s God and His way of showing you He’s there. At the end of it all, Job triumphed and was given double. His end was he was blessed and so will you.

Prayer: Father, I don’t understand why, but I put my faith in You. I will yet praise You. It’s hard, but I will still praise You. I thank You for the people You are sending to help me. As I pray, speak and strengthen me. As I pray, lift my head. I thank You for overcoming. Be glorified Father. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
