“But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head” Psalm 3:3, NKJV.
First, he fled from Saul. Now, at the time David wrote this Psalm, he was fleeing from his own son. You can only imagine how devastated he felt. Yet, was reminded of His God, and the Lord lifted his head.
Sometimes, we can feel down and out in challenging times. Yet, God will lift us. While you may be looking down, He comes and picks you up and reminds you of who you are and who He is. Your shield. Your glory, your honor as a man. He comes today and says to look up. He has not left you. Your end will be laughter and joy. Your end will be victory. He has spoken it and it will be. His will is where you will stand and rest.
As you turn to Him and lift Him up, He will lift you up along with Him. As you turn to His word, even now, He declares over you that He is the lifter of your head!
Prayer: Father, I thank you. You are my Rock, my fortress, and my shield. You are the lifter of my head. You help me, protect me, and I don’t have to be afraid. Help me stand on your word today. You will make a way for me. I will praise you! As I lift you up, you lift me up and give me your divine perspective of it all. You are my glory. You are the lifter of head! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
