“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” Hebrews 12:2, NKJV.
The best way to set your joy before you is talking about your joy ahead. Whatever God is talking to you about, you should be talking about. Jesus always set His joy before Him. Throughout His whole life, He would mention the cross, but He talked a whole lot more about what was on the other side of the cross. There was a joy, a reward and a redemption for us that was so abundantly good, He talked about it and it helped Him endure.
I have a plan God gave me and I am waiting on a financial joy, and it seems like a long time. It couldn’t come any sooner. Yet the Lord told me it seems that way, it seems hard, it seems unbearable because you haven’t set the joy it before you. Then He told me begin to speak life and talk about what I’m about to do in your life.
Begin to talk about what He said He would do! You should be walking around and telling your wife, “It is going to be so good when that joy comes into our hands!” Tell your wife and children, “We’re going somewhere great!” Say what you’re going to do. Make plans for it! See yourself there, and even call it already done.
Your joy could be God told you something He is going to do in your life, healing or walking in your calling. Whatever the area is, set your joy before you by talking about it. It will be worth it and it will help you endure!
Prayer: Father, Glory to You this morning! You’ve given me a joy and I set it before me. With the power of life in my tongue, I talk about it! I say it’s going to be abundantly good! Allow what I say to affect what I think on, which is what You said You will do in my life. I thank You for it in Jesus’ name, Amen!
