Enjoying Where You Are

March 14, 2021

“Not that I am implying that I was in any personal want, for I have learned how to be content (satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or disquieted) in whatever state I am” Philippians 4:11, Amplified.

I have had times when I have felt like being somewhere in life that I am not at right now. I imagine myself at the destination and it feels so good, to the point that I want to desperately be there. I then find it causes me to forfeit my contentment and joy of where I am right now.

Learn to be content and enjoy where you are. As strange as it may sound, learn to enjoy the journey, as much as the destination. Even while God is at work in your life, be thankful what He’s already done. Even while He is teaching you and changing your circumstance, see that you are getting better, stronger and wiser. You may not be where you want to be, but if you consider your life, you aren’t where you use to be.

Abide in God, and He will keep you living in the present and remind you of the joy of where you are. There are victories to appreciate right now. There are moments to live right now. There are people to reach and love right now. There are blessings all around you now.

Prayer: Father, I praise You! It’s good to desire to go farther in life for You, but let me not forfeit the joy of where I am today. Thank You for all you have done. You’ve turned me around and I won’t forget it. Even while You are at work in my life, keep me reminded me the joy of where I am. Help me abide satisfied in You, trusting You. Help me stay present, and enjoy living now. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
