“And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. So Jesus answered and said, ‘Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God…’ ” Luke 17: 15-18, NKJV.
Jesus healed ten lepers, but only one of them came back to give the Lord glory and praise. He realized all that the Lord had done for him and what this meant for his life. I am sure he thought about how this blessing he had just received was going to change everything and was very grateful.
Look around and think about everything the Lord has done for you. He has kept you. When you needed provision, He brought it to you on time. He has been answering your heartfelt prayers. He’s been healing and restoring you beyond what others will ever know. There is a divine work of the heart, something new you can’t express that the Father has and is doing in your life. He’s rescued your life from destruction, even in these times, and brought you through it. He’s changing everything for you right now.
Like the one leper, come back and thank Him. It will cause you to lift your hands with joyful expectation as you’re reminded what your God can do.
Prayer: Father, I realize what you’ve done and are doing in my life. I take the time not to ask of you but to thank you. Just stopping everything to say thank you. May I always be like the leper that came back to thank you. I come back and serve you with my life. I bless your great name, and as I do, I’m reminded of your goodness and faithfulness. I am reminded that you’ll do it again. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
