You must decrease, so He can increase.

September 9, 2019

“He must increase, but I must decrease” John 3:30, NKJV.

“For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure” Philippians 2:13, NKJV.

It can be difficult to move yourself from doing what you want to do. Jesus had the hardest battle of His will to get on the cross, yet it yielded the greatest results, the greatest impact, the greatest blessing in His life. What He knew He could not do, or even wanted to do, He set Himself in prayer to humble himself and decrease, so the grace of God, the power of God could increase. The more you decrease, the more He can increase, birthing the results you are looking for.

There are things that we just flat out don’t want to do. In spite of how tough it may seem, it can all be accomplished as you go before God and decrease. Decrease and you’ll hear Him. What you can’t do, allow Him to do in you. It is the key to every victory, every inward fight. He will work in you what you can’t do, what you can’t manufacturer– the will and the ability to do what pleases Him.

Prayer: Father, increase in my life, and I must decrease before You. Only You can work in me the desire and the ability to do Your good pleasure. I humble myself and I decrease, so You can increase in my life, so Your Spirit can lead me. Give me the strength to accept what Your will. Increase Lord and birth the greatest results in my walk with You! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
