You are a blessed man right where you are.

December 7, 2017

“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” 1 Thessalonians 5:18, KJV.

I was blessed to order pizza one night for my family. I sat in a comfortable chair and rested my feet on an ottoman, while enjoying heat in our home. All my children sat at the dinner table eating, as we quietly enjoyed their kid’s movie. I couldn’t help but realize that I am blessed.

There are some people fighting for their lives. Some men don’t have a job and would love to have yours with no complaints. There are men who wouldn’t mind having any car to drive, as long as it works.

Look around you. Don’t ever forget how blessed you are. When we forget, we can become ungrateful, doubtful and surprisingly complacent. Being able to appreciate what God has already done will set your table of faith for what surely is to come. It will set the table for the peace and joy of the Lord in your life. It will set the table for a heart full of praise and a mind set on Jesus.

You will remain focused on what truly matters, and that is being a blessing and developing your relationship with God. This all happens when you realize how blessed you are.

Prayer: Father, help me to consider that maybe things aren’t as bad as the enemy pursues to make them out to be. Just maybe I am blessed right where I am. Father forgive me if I’ve been a complaining man looking for the next blessing. I thank You. I pray for others to have Jesus and to have what I have, even their basic needs. Help me to be about what You’re about, which is being a blessing, not looking for one. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
