“Jesus said to him, ‘If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.’ Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, ‘Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!’ ” Mark 9:23-24, NKJV.
We have to come to God from a real and honest place, and sometimes we don’t. I went before Him to spend time with Him and I begin praying. I’m praying for everybody and it sounded good, very professional and all the right things. Yet, I suddenly stopped and said what am I doing. I then broke down and said Lord I feel fearful and doubtful. Please help me and He did. The next words that came to me were that’s what He’s here for.
Don’t go before God in prayer and put up a front. That’s not what He’s there for. He’ll pick you up from where you really are. He will help you do what you feel like you can’t do. Change what you can’t. Give you strength where you lack it and joy when you need it. As the man in scripture, in his moment was very honest with Jesus, I believe, but help my unbelief, so you do the same. He will do what seems impossible, beginning with you. That’s how you experience a real God and grow.
Prayer: Father, thank You that I can pray from a real place to You. This is where I am. Help me. I desire to do Your will and I ask You to do a work in me, even right now what feels impossible to do. I thank You for helping me and whatever I need, I can come to You and you will supply. That’s what You’re here for. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
