Handling Pressure

June 26, 2017

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33, NKJV

There is something about how pressure can bring out the best in us, yet it can also bring out the worst in us. This can be speaking hurtful things to your wife when you both disagree. This can be anger when finances are low and we don’t know how we will pay our bills. This can be the temptation to quit our jobs when faced with the great demands of it.

When you see the worst, address it. Recognize that you need some understanding, or something to stand on, when faced with the stresses and pressures of life. Let God’s word push those tendencies right out of you, speak to your deeper need, and give you faith-filled, love-filled responses.

The more you put His word into your heart regarding that area, the more you will hear Him and trust Him, in the moment, when He says be of good cheer–He has already overcome for you. The more you will be patient in the moment. The more you will follow Him in the moment and do it. His word will truly change you into a man when under pressure, the best comes out of you.

Prayer: Father, You know what we have need of. You know my inward struggles with certain areas in my life and when pressure comes, I lose it. Fix me Lord. I don’t want to always react like this. I will put Your word in my heart so I can respond like You. Greater is Jesus Who is in me, than he that is in the world. Through You and your word, I will have faith when the pressure comes. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
