The humility we don’t think about.

January 24, 2020

“But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, ‘God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you” James 4:6 & 12, ESV.

It not only takes faith to receive God’s word about you. It not only takes courage to receive God’s Word about you. It takes humility.

I use to think being humble was only when I would tell God I am nothing and can’t do anything without You. Yet, examine yourself. When the Lord says you are called by Him to do great things for His glory, or when the Lord leads you to do something, do you humble yourself to what He says about who you are in Him and what you can do? This can hinder you from being the man you have been called to be.

We are in an hour where we have to humble ourselves that the grace of God, the power, the mighty hand of God will be seen and experienced in our lives. This is the hour for men to get beyond our “I can’t” and insecurities, every last one of them, and humble ourselves to who we now are in Christ.

Be willing to receive not only who you are without the Lord, but who you are with Him. Be willing to accept God’s word about you, and to humble yourself to His will. You are who God says you are, and you can do everything He says you are called to do.

Prayer: Father, I praise You! I never looked at humility this way. Just as I can humbly say, I can’t do anything without You, I lift my hands and humbly say I can do all things with You! Help me to apply humility in every area of my life that Your grace may abound and use me mightily in this hour. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
