Give Your Abundant Attention

February 9, 2018

“Neglect not the gift that is in thee…Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all” 1 Timothy 4:14-15, KJV.

Just because a seed is in the ground, doesn’t mean it’s going to grow. It needs water and an abundance of it. Whatever the Lord has put in your heart to do, from becoming a better man to doing a godly work, it needs your attention and an abundance of it. The truth is even some things may appear innocent, but the devil works subtly to draw our attention away from what we’re supposed to be doing.

If you are completely giving your time in the things that are not taking you anywhere, don’t give it your abundant attention. Give yourself abundantly to the things that ultimately give back to you, and this will be your best year yet.

Give an abundance of your attention to what really matters, such as your relationship with Jesus and the goals before you. Some things don’t deserve all of your attention. To the degree that you give your attention to something, will be the degree of it that you possess. If you give a little attention to what God has put in your heart to do, at the end of the year, that’s how much of it you will have of it. However, the things that truly matter, the things that will shape you as a man and the very course of your life, the things that God has ordained for you, you will not lack when you give an abundance of your attention to it. You will have plenty of it in your life.

Prayer: Father, help me to give my abundant attention to what You have called me to do. I need to give an abundance attention to what matters most. Help stay focused on Jesus and finishing my race. Guide me Holy Spirit. This will be my best year yet because of my abundant attention to what’s in my heart to do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
