A Chosen Man

February 10, 2018

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” 1 Peter 2:9, NKJV.

I remember when I was younger, I would go to the park to play basketball. When creating teams to play against each other, two captains would pick who would play with them. The rest of us would then stand in a line, and with all types of height, shapes and sizes of young men in that line, it felt good to be chosen to be a part of a team.

You are just like that. Out of all the men He could have chosen by name in this hour, He chose you. He hand-picked you, and it is honorable. You were standing in the world, among the hurting and the bruised, didn’t know where to turn, and God called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

God says you are part of a chosen generation, a royal priesthood of men, a holy nation, called to be light and proclaim the praises of the Father. If He chose you, everything you need is already in you. You can do it. You can make it! You can conquer any mountain. You are God’s man–called to make disciples and spread the Gospel to those in need of it. You are called to show people how they can win in life through Christ Jesus. You are chosen, and the Father is asking for your best game right now.

Prayer: Father, thank You for choosing me. You wouldn’t have picked me if I couldn’t be everything You’ve called me to be. I am a man of God and priest of my home. I am royalty and holy. I am favored and blessed. I have been called out, to be sent back into the world to be a light for You. I pray more men answer Your call. I yield to You Holy Spirit and I will live for You. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
