Enjoying Where You Are

December 22, 2018

“Not that I am implying that I was in any personal want, for I have learned how to be content (satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or disquieted) in whatever state I am” Philippians 4:11, Amplified.

I have had times when I have felt like being somewhere in life that I am not at right now. I imagine myself at the destination and it feels so good, to the point that I want to desperately be there. I then find it causes me to forfeit my contentment today and the enjoyment of where God has me right now.

Learn to be content and enjoy where we are. As strange as it may sound, learn to enjoy the journey, as much as the destination. Even while God is working on you, be thankful and appreciate what He is doing in your life. Even while He is teaching you and changing your circumstance, see that you are getting better, stronger and wiser. You may not be where you want to be, but if you consider your life for a moment, you aren’t where you use to be.

Abide in God and He will keep you living in the present, and remind you of the joy of where you are. There are breaths to take right now. There is life to live right now. There are people to reach and love right now. There are blessings all around you, and when you have a content heart, if you didn’t take another step, God shows you He’s blessed your life far more than you realize.

Prayer: Father, it’s good to desire to go farther in life for You, but let me not forfeit my joy of where I am today. Thank You for how much You’ve blessed me. You’ve turned me around and I won’t forget it. Even while You are working on me, remind me of the joy of where I am. Help me abide satisfied in You, trusting You. I will be content. Help me stay present, and enjoy living now. Hallelujah! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
