Pray about everything, worry about nothing.

September 23, 2017

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:6-7, NKJV.

God wants His sons to pray about everything that is going on in us and around us. What’s left after everything? Nothing. He wants us to completely abandon anxiety and worrying about things, to praying and supplicating (humbly crying out to God) about all the things we’re going through.

Either we’re praying or worrying about what the outcome will be. Worrying about the outcome will open the door for fear, and fear then will cause you to feel like you have to make something happen, you have to make a way, and it’s all on your shoulders. However, prayer will help you maintain a stance of faith in the One Who is able, in the One Who has already made a way.

It makes it hard to hear God’s voice when you’re worrying. It makes it easy to hear God’s voice when you’re praying. Why? Because a loving God hears and will answer you. He’ll tell you what to do. He’ll reveal to you His will and give you peace about it. When you worry, you’re not trusting Him and His sovereignty. When you’re praying, you’re choosing to put it in His hands. Whether great or small, He wants us to develop a habit of a prayer response about everything that is going on in our lives.

So when thoughts come about what are you going to do about your home, immediately pray. When the thoughts come about how to rebuild after the storm, pray and ask of Him. When concerns come about your family, about money, what to do today, or even your calling, decide to trust Him and pray about it all. Pray about everything, worry about nothing.

Prayer: Father, I’m making a decision today to prayer about everything and worry about nothing. No matter all what’s happening in the world to my own life, help me to have a prayer response and not a worrying one. I ask humbly for You to help me with what I’m going through. Make a way Father. Make a way for those in need also. I believe You will and I thank You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
