You can always come home.

October 3, 2020

“But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father…” Luke 15:17-18a, NKJV.

The prodigal son had seen enough hard times and gone through enough in the world to see there’s nothing out there for him. He said I’m going home. It’s good to know that you can always come back home.

Maybe that’s you, or was you. You’ve seen enough and gone through enough of trying to live life by yourself. Like the prodigal son, you’re now starting to have this feeling that you can’t do this anymore. Whenever you find that you are living in sin, are away from God or out of His will, there will be that wake-up moment and you see that you’re better off going back to the Father. You’re better off in His will and embracing His plans for you.

It’s rough outside, but to Him, you are not an outsider. You are not a servant either, but a son. The father ran to meet the prodigal son and blessed him, and so He does with us. You have been redeemed and set free through the blood of Jesus, and you can come home.

Prayer: Father, thank You that I can come home. I repent before You and receive what Christ has done. I’ve had enough, and I’m coming back to You. I’m coming back to Your plan and Your will for me. I ask that You straighten out my life. I feel good and I praise You for it. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
