“And the Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea” Exodus 14:15-16, NKJV.
With Pharaoh and his army behind them and the Red Sea in front of them, the people of Israel found themselves in a tough situation. It seemed there was nowhere to go and nowhere to turn. Yet, God spoke and told Moses to go forward. In the heat of a decision, in the face of pressure, He told them what they needed to hear.
In the heat of a decision or trouble, God isn’t silent. He is speaking right now to help navigate you through the storm. He is speaking of a way out and where to turn to tell you what you need to hear. You may be hearing the devil loud and clear. Yet, the great thing to know is that your Father speaks also–much more than your adversary. One word from God is more powerful than every arrow from the wicked one. In a moment of plenty or drought, He is speaking much more. He is saying something to you. What He is saying always agrees with His word. What He says will always call us to walk in faith.
He tells us if we pray, He hears us with the intent to answer, lead, and take us forward. If Moses can hear God in the moment and receive victory, with Christ in you, you can, too.
Prayer: Father, thank you for your word. At this very moment in this situation, I thank you for speaking. You will tell me exactly what I need to hear. Help me to sit in a posture of hearing your voice. Direct my path. I thank you that as I do, just like Moses, you will give me the courage to go forward with what you are telling me to do and walk in victory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
