A Living Sacrifice

May 3, 2019

“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends” John 15:13, NKJV.

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1, NKJV.

Jesus gave of Himself for someone else and His sacrifice has caused a glorious impact on generations eternally. Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice for sin and changed our destiny. Now God desires us to be a living one–a living sacrifice.

It may sound deep, but it isn’t. Jesus loved God and loved people. His dedication and worship to God went beyond living holy to the giving of Himself for someone else. One sacrifice, one act of giving of yourself, one selfless act, one extra mile, one sharing of Jesus, one jail visit, one helping hand, can change someone’s life eternally. His sacrifice restored the kingdom, and your sacrifice can even restore someone’s faith in a real God that sees and cares about what they’re going through.

Every sacrifice, whatever you give, whatever you lay down, will result in someone being impacted because, in a tangible way, they experience Christ in you.

Prayer: Father, thank You for making me a living sacrifice. Make me more like Jesus. Help me to love You and my love for You shows in how I love people, even if it costs me something. Let me not be all about me, but all about You and Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
