Why Do You Call Me Lord

December 9, 2018

“But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?” Luke 6:46, NKJV.

Sometimes, it can be tough for a man to let Jesus have control, but you are going to have to. You may not like what He says, you may not feel like doing what he says, but if he’s Lord, you should do it.

If he’s Lord, then let him be. He’s giving a lot of direction right now to us, telling many of us how to get things right in our lives, how to handle our circumstance, and what to do at this very moment in order to overcome. Yet, hearing the things that he says, but not doing them is like building house after house, area after area in our lives, with no foundation but wonder why we keep falling.

It feels good to be lord. It feels good to call the shots, but your wisdom isn’t deep enough to stand in the flood and you’re not powerful enough to speak peace when the storm comes. He’s Lord because everything bows down to the words he says, and when you should choose to also, you can overcome anything and you are blessed in everything you do. If you really want to see a mighty change in your life, make the transition from only saying he’s Lord, to truly letting him be Lord in your life.

Prayer: Father, thank You for telling me the truth. Show me Jesus anything or any area that I’ve just been calling you Lord, but I’m really not doing the things you say to do. From my marriage to my money, you are Lord. It’s tough, but help me to humble down and let you have control of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
