Come near Jesus–the Word

May 26, 2019

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” John 1:1 & 14, NKJV.

Sometimes, I don’t know what to read in the Bible. I don’t know where to begin, but I don’t allow that to keep me from reading it. I find that whatever I read, somehow the Lord always meets me there. God began to show me why.

It is because Jesus IS the Word. He became flesh and dwelt among us. He experienced everything we experience. If you come draw near to God by opening your Bible to read it, whether day or night, hill or valley, good times or bad, Jesus will come near and dwell with you.

Draw near to God, and He will never fail to draw near to you.

God’s word has everything you need for life, strong faith and freedom. You will find rest for your soul. He is the Prince of Peace. He is our Counselor. He is the Lion of Judah. He is the Word of God.

Prayer: Father, thank You for the Word Jesus Christ. He is near. Help me to draw near to the Word today, somewhere in the Word–and find that you meet me right where I’m at in my life. Jesus will come near and meet my need. In Your great name I pray, Amen.

Study: John 1:1-16, James 4:8
