Strengthen your faith by hearing His Word

September 11, 2017

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” Romans 10:17, NKJV.

We tell our children all the time that rewards come from doing the right thing. Promotion comes from being faithful on your job. A great, strong marriage doesn’t just happen, but it comes from putting the hard work in to make it that way. Faith (being fully persuaded to trust God) comes by hearing, and specifically, it comes by hearing the word of God.

Praying is very vital to a healthy, strong relationship with the Lord; however, as mighty as your prayers may be, as bold as your prayers may be, faith doesn’t come this way. It doesn’t produce and doesn’t manufacture the faith that we ultimately live by (Romans 1:17). Prayer doesn’t replace His word, what it was meant to do for you and meant to do in you. So as you pray, add to your faith also. Build your faith in these times. Allow great faith to come by putting everything aside, turning the television off, turning Facebook off, and spend time putting God’s word in your heart.

So whether there is a natural storm happening all around you, or a type of storm has come in your very own personal life, you won’t panic. You won’t be afraid, but have peace. You have put in your hand the words of God, the promises of God and you don’t let go. You have made your faith strong. You have built your faith on the Rock Jesus Christ, and you are able to stand against anything!

Prayer: Father, I hear You speaking to me. I not only should be praying, but praying and reading Your word too! Help me do that so my faith will be strong against any type of storm that comes my way. As being the head of my home, help me to be an example of faith right before my family and to those around me! In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Study: Matthew 7:24-27, Hebrews 10:38, 11:6
