Steps to receive

January 5, 2017

“And they lifted up their voices and said, ‘Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!’ So when He saw them, He said to them, ‘Go, show yourselves to the priests.’ And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed” Luke 17:13-14, NKJV.

When Jesus walked the earth, He would heal someone when they asked. Sometimes, He would ask them to do something, a step, an instruction, and when they did it, or even as they did it, they would find themselves receiving what they asked for.

Many times with our daily walk, when you ask for something from God, before you receive what you’ve asked for, you will receive an instruction. He will speak to your heart and tell you to do something. It is now your opportunity, your window, your door to receive what you’ve asked for.

When you ask God to help my marriage, in the heat of a moment, He will ask you to forgive her. When you ask God to increase you financially, at the time your paycheck arrives, He will ask you to put some of it aside. You may ask God for some peace of mind, then the Father will ask you to read My Word. When you ask Him for His will to be done in your life, He will reveal His will and ask you to follow My Spirit into it.

When you ask for something from God, God is going to ask something of you. Do what He asks because they are the very steps to receive. No blessing, no reward comes without obedience. He will open the door for you, but your willingness and obedience is what will open the door for Him to powerfully move, so you can powerfully receive.

Prayer: Father, thank You for spending time with me. Thank You for speaking to me real plain. You always hear me when I ask You for anything. Help me to do what You ask of me so I can receive. According to Your Word, You will even do beyond what I can ask for or imagine! I praise You in advance for what You will do in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
