His main concern

January 6, 2017

“For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” Matthew 16:26, NKJV.

When someone has a main concern, it is what governs everything they do. Above you being blessed with accomplishments and things, God is interested in you living clean and living right. Before prospering you financially, He is concerned about prospering your character. Before He changes your address, His utmost desire is to change you. The Father’s mainly concerned about you having a clean heart. His will, what He tells you to do, and how He instructs you to spend your time, will reflect that.

Don’t expect God to put anything before you focusing on your sanctification and a pure heart. This is the greatest reward you can receive. This is the greatest outpouring of blessings you can receive. Let this become what you value. When you live upright and tell the truth. When you forgive and are above reproach. When you don’t accept bribes and you are a keeper of your word. There is nothing that matters more to God. If nothing else matters more to your heavenly Father, let nothing matter more to you also.

At the end of the day, the Father wants Christ to be formed in you. Let Him do it. This is the man that won’t be moved. This is the man that will ultimately be blessed.

Prayer: Father, I thank You today. Your main concern is me having clean hands and living right. Your main concern is my soul. Help me to focus on what is more value than anything I could ever accomplish in this life–Christ being formed in me. Nothing matters more than this. I will let You do this great work in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
